Pros

Perks - if you love basketball, you'll get close to the players, the merch, the games (tickets, all-star, playoffs). Also, if you come in Director / VP or above you get compensated reasonably well. Most of the people you work with are smart and polished.

Cons

Pay is horrible for Sr. Manager and below; work-life balance is a joke; it's not that no one cares about your professional growth (promotions, raises, chance to contribute on important accounts), but the hierarchy is set up for you to get left with false promises. If you think any of your colleagues really care about you, be wary

Pros

Good fringe benefits and culture. For the most part, people were a pleasure to work with. If you're a sports fan, it can't get any better than this.

Cons

Base pay was below industry standards. Merit increases were very low, especially when exceeding expectations (4-5 rating). There is definitely a glass ceiling when it comes to getting promoted but everyone wants to work here too so you're expendable. Always uncertainty in job position when the CBA is renewed.

Pros

The people are (for the most part) friendly, the travel opportunities can be exciting, and the food at the NBA Cafe is a pretty solid deal. Fun perks. However... The best thing about working at the NBA is your next job. If you can position yourself effectively, your resume will be interesting enough to get you in the door for interviews at better employers.

Cons

Minimal investment in human development beyond ineffective cookie-cutter classes. Laughable compensation levels. Zero room for professional advancement. Intensely political office environment.
