Pros

Good benefits Smart, hard-working employees Fun, creative work environment Worldwide brand recognition

Cons

Senior management is out of touch with new technologies impacting the business Hierarchy and convoluted org structure impedes decisions from being made quickly Many groups within the company are working on similar projects and "reinventing the wheel" without knowing it. Old boys club where well-connected people get hired into good positions even if they are not the most qualified. Not enough minorities in senior management.

Pros

Some good benefits and work/life flexibility if you're in the right division/department. SNL.

Cons

Absolutely terrible hostile leadership. Toxic, abusive and competitive environment. Extremely male, white cis male-centric, outdated ideas about work and the responsibility of mainstream media. I was there while the strike was going on and although we could hear the chants of the picket lines outside during meetings, there was never a single discussion about it internally. I was also there one of the many times that Jimmy Fallon was called out for hostile and abusive work environment, and Jeff Shell was ousted for sexual misconduct - these instances are not an aberration- this is the environment there. Good ideas were ALWAYS stolen by higher ups without giving credit, and mistakes were called out and employees publicly humiliated and shamed for them. The pay disparity is also appalling - I was reporting to someone who made at least 15X what I was making on base salary alone.

Pros

The title on the resume, pretty much it, I liked most of my colleagues, PTO was decent

Cons

Toxic management, HR is complicit and never actually cared to legitimate complaints. The manager and senior director of the department are completely inept. Senior Director is an ego maniac who instead of lifting the team up, punches down to make themselves look better to higher ups. And is completely an exclusionist, but portrays themselves as inclusive. Underpaid for what the position actually is and blamed for almost anything that doesn’t go as planned. Turnover in this department is insane, almost always training someone new. Zero culture, if anything better from the outside looking in.
