Employees are required to cover own travel costs for work (excluding flights) and then submit to finance for reimbursement. What if you can't afford to do this?. Wasn't required to complete mandatory provincial trainings for new employees (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Worker/Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness, Workplace Violence and Harassment). You don't have any vacation the first year of your employment, but you do have personal days. The amount of vacation you have your second year depends on when you were hired in your first year. For example, if there are 14 vacation days for employees employed for 1-3 years, and you were hired halfway through the fiscal year, you would only have 7 vacation days in your second year. You won't have a full allotment of vacation days until your third year. Career advancement seems difficult depending on your department. For example, if your manager doesn't get promoted or leave the company, you likely will not get promoted unless your department has multiple managers at the same level. Benefits are through Cigna, so it's easier to pay upfront unfortunately and then submit it to get reimbursed.
