Pros

The phrase "I work for the NHL" carries some weight with hockey fans. And when your job deals directly with the game, there's nothing more fun.

Cons

A recent job posting quoted the same starting salary as it was in 2007. It's great covering hockey and working in a league office, but people do need to survive in a very expensive place to live.

Pros

medical benefits, 401k etc. are excellent.

Cons

culture is toxic and the coolness factor/salary is not worth your mental health. Management can pretty much do whatever they want with no repercussions. Very difficult to move up and grow within certain departments. The company doesn't really care about you or how much they work you into the ground, even though they're constantly preaching how much they care/push their benefits.
