Pros

Let me think of one.... No really, it's only hard for me to say I wasted my time and neurons in this company. So no, there are no pros.

Cons

While this company is family owned, you will see lots of micromanage and office politics, and yes that can be expected everywhere, but in this company the only reason to be careful is because of what kind of family is this company owned from. The Martins, they were a very respectful family in the company, but since Mrs Martin is in charge of the HR department and everything else, those days are gone. I have known different customers that buy from them and they are aware of what's really happening in the WHQ grounds. Please be smart, read all reviews and decide. These are reviews written by former employees and anonymous current ones. What's going on in this company is a little dictatorship run by the CPO - Chief People Officer. New employees have to mandatory watch a video on ethics. You will see her just talking about her experience and the feedback is that she's talking a little high. With a tone that is very uncomfortable to the receptors. Check all other reviews with more than 4 stars. Read carefully..that's her voice. No one is as happy as described.

Pros

Amazingly they make money. Nice facilities. Some excellent middle management people. Once had an excellent reputation and was viewed as a good place to work.

Cons

I worked at NIBCO for several years. Pre-CPO, this was a great company. Stable competent workforce and management, good benefits, good products, and I felt I was part of the team. Post-CPO, a complete disaster! Lengthy wage freezes, continual slashing of benefits and increased cost passed to employees, and when you seek medical care you have to pay an extremely high co-pay and then hope and pray that the insurance may cover something--benefits not consistent for each visit or for every employee. When you ask HR for help, you always get the same response; "Obviously the doctor didn't code it right". Many times the charge for the office visit is LESS than the co-pay; NIBCO has highest co-pay in Elkhart County. Not much opportunity for advancement if you are a male. Interesting only male workers at a director's level or higher have offices, but females at lower positions are assigned offices. Very sexist atmosphere. The extremely competent workforce have fled and been replaced by inexperience people who have good intentions but have no guidance or direction. The turnover rate is unbelievable. I will stop here as you can read the other reviews.

Pros

Pros are hard to think of. I suppose the onsite gym is nice, tuition reimbursement is good. I guess it helped build my resume.

Cons

I can only speak to my personal experiences. Yes, the work atmosphere is toxic, the fear of being fired is prevalent. I witnessed the Family Feud exercise, it was possibly the most awkward thing I ever saw at work. I saw so much backstabbing and unprofessional behavior at WHQ that I decided to leave before I did something to get on the blacklist. Any time there was an event or a special function everyone was on eggshells. There where some posts on this site that referenced a "disgruntled former employee", they even referred to this person by name. The person referenced was a good friend of mine. This person got on the Queens bad side, until then this person was in the inner circle, after running afoul of her holiness this person was cast aside like a piece of trash. From personal experience I can tell you if you take a job with this company, do not make eye contact with the Queen, do not apply for internal job postings, UNLESS your direct supervisor tells you to. Do NOT use the health insurance for minor issues and under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you EVER apply for FMLA, if you do you will have a HUGE target on your back. I personally witnessed people "leaving to pursue other interests" (that's company code for being fired) just before the yearly bonus was paid. You have to be employed on the day the bonus is paid to get it, it doesn't matter if you were there the whole year, if you get fired the day before the payout, you get nothing. Also, keep in mind that any money in your ESOP, will take a LONG time to get when you leave. I knew an employee that was a few cubes over from me, when he left he thought he had access to a fairly substantial amount of stock money, in reality it took him months to get a partial payout. I can't recommend this company to anyone. In fact I would encourage you to seek employment elsewhere.
