Pros

Great benefits, the career (non political) employees are generally fantastic overall and just want to do a good job, people are respectful of each other

Cons

I worked here for 10 years and the second Trump presidency was unlike anything I have ever seen before in my life. They came and and immediately tried to scare everyone that they would be fired, arrested for not complying with the executive branch's orders, and implemented tactics to make it as miserable as possible. Here are some examples: Day 1: requested a list of anyone whose work included DEI, fired those people Week 1: Froze all grants (80% of NIH's work) and refused to award the money to research. Went through research and terminated legit things for being "woke" (like sickle cell research) Week 2: removed remote work and mandated everyone back in office, people working in hallways just to comply and paying their own transit DOGE emailed employees and said we should all get private sector jobs because we would be more productive (AKA we're lazy) Week 3: Fired anyone on probation (who had been there less than 2 years) without notifying their manager, just reached out and told them they were fired Week 4: froze all of the credit cards for purchasing, couldnt even purchase medical gowns Month 2: DOGE walks around the hospital firing people on the spot for not bringing their badge This continued on and on

Pros

Collaborative work environment, Health Insurance benefits, work life balance (non existent now). Previous leadership was both people and science oriented!

Cons

New Directors and appointed positions lack any form of scientific knowledge. Management is afraid to push back in newly implemented racist policies.
