Pros

I feel there is a good senior management heading the company. A lot of diversity as majority of 40,000 employees are outside of the US. Global travelling, solid balance sheet and of course for the next few foreseeable decades business will be good.

Cons

The company is made up of so many different and acquired companies that a majority of the employees in these acquired companies still feel like they don't work for NOV. Consequently they have not been sold all of the companies practices and policies.

It is a job. They do not lay off much. Decent training opportunities.

Cons

The job was misrepresented during the interview. I was lured away from a decent job to come to this company. I was asked to sign a one sided contract in order to accept the job. Of course, I did not see the contract until I had resigned from my previous employer and worked at NOV for a week. Classic bait and switch. Beware! Below averege wages. No personal time off unless using your 10 days of vacation time. "Every man for themselves" style of management. 30+ hour shifts. Limited overtime and
