      Pros

      -Travel -IT -Resources -Co-workers I enjoyed this group and the people I worked with (not including management.) There was tons of travel and exposure to all functions and groups within NOV.

      Cons

      The nepotism at NOV is sickening. Qualified individuals are put on the street while family and friends are kept around. It's unfortunate and sad how the leadership runs this company at times. NOV has the potential to be a greater company than what it is if not for incompetent management. Layoffs are going on in droves, don't be blindsided by the lack of reporting.

      Where do I begin? Incompetent people who lack conviction, accountability, and do not understand the concept of teamwork. Career and advancement depend on who you know and/or how much behind you kiss. They treat their employees and their vendors like crap and do not know the first thing about planning. They are reactive instead of proactive. What as disappointment... They are going to be the cause of their own downfall. They are the bully of the O&G Industry. Left because of the culture.

      Pros

      If you are interested in advancing your career or changing fields chances are NOV will give you the opportunity to do so. They also support professional development, but you may have difficulty advancing within the company.

      Cons

      The company is very disorganized & dysfunctional. Management tends to prevent successful employees from promoting especially if it means they will leave the business group. Management blocks employees from transferring unless they have disciplinary issues.
