Cons

The only thing that matters is how many billable hours a consultant bills out. The training provided is basic and is a waste of time. You will not learn anything to further your professional career. You will be dragged into the training calls every week to listen to how to sell - that's the only thing that matters. Mangement around CEO is a bunch of yes men. There is no baseline understanding of professional communications or consultants recognition. NowCFO brings on and off people as another temp firm only with more unprofessional behavior and insane CEO.

Thank you for your review. As we are a full-service consulting firm, it’s true that consultants are responsible for their billable hours. This is a standard model/expectation in consulting related firms. Our extensive training program is designed to give consultants the best tools possible to be successful in their roles. This is also why we have senior consultants join and lead calls in a mentorship capacity. Working as a consultant isn’t for everybody, but we’ve found that those who embrace the program and have the aptitude can have great financial and professional success in our model.

Pros

-Company is growing which gives all employees the opportunity to have their voices heard. I've been able to participate on committees and propose some valuable changes to policies and procedures -Flexible(ish) schedules and bonus opportunities -Staff is friendly and we can use resources from other markets to help us brush up on skills, etc. Everyone seems to be willing to collaborate.

Cons

-Sometimes clients can be located in areas that are farther away from my home, which makes me have to drive longer. They usually try to manage drive times and give me clients closer to the area which I live in, but every once in a while I get a 45 min drive. I guess it's the luck of the draw. -Not as many benefits as a larger firm, but we're getting there. We recently started getting 401k match and they seem to be making more efforts to do team building, give us company "swag", etc. -Brand is not as well recognized. It's growing and more people are starting to know what we do, but if you are looking for the immediate brand recognition of a big firm, this might not be the place for you Overall, the firm experiences traditional growing pains that are not unlike those that you would experience at other firms. I think it takes a special kind of mindset to work in a company like Now CFO, and it may not be a good fit for those who just want to lay low and get their work done without being expected to be a part of something larger.

Pros

If misery, broken promises, high stress, micro-management, long working nights and weekends, unstable CEO/Owner, poor leadership, and extremely high turnover excite you....this is the place.

Cons

Don't be fooled by the positive (fake) reviews you see about this company on this site. If you are considering taking a job at Now CFO, RUN AWAY! If for some reason you entertain this disastrous thought, start by asking them what their employee turnover is and why it is so extremely high. You can also ask them why keeping highly skilled/educated employees in the field and at corporate is impossible. Then, if for some reason you haven't ended the conversation already, ask them the most important question...…tell me about the Owner/CEO. If they don't spend the next 30-45 minutes explaining how difficult, un-professional, demeaning, vulgar, micromanaging, prideful, and unpredictable he is, they have not painted a full picture. Lastly, poor leaders will always surround themselves with poor leadership. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!

We appreciate your comments and feedback. NOW CFO is committed to a positive company culture and has made significant investments into the senior team that includes a new head of HR to help manage employee satisfaction and ensure that NOW CFO remains a great place to work. We appreciate the time you took to write this review. We are saddened to hear that your time here at NowCFO has been a negative experience. We do work in a fast-paced environment and encourage our employees to bring their best selves to the table; especially when bringing someone onboard. We do have a strong emphasis on training to ensure our employees are able to be successful to work independently. You are correct to say that our turnover is slightly higher than the national average of 19% and we are proud to say that a majority of our turnover is due to our clients buying out our consultant contracts.
