Pros

As an intern, they emphasize learning anything and everything beyond your assigned work

Cons

If you're working there as something other than a journalist, be ready to carry the weight of news just as much as they do. Very hard to escape stressful headlines when they're directly related to your place of work.

Pros

Good journalism. Good people and a devoted audience. Stable funding base in an industry that's seen a lot of turmoil. Room for growth within the company and a top-notch reputation in the industry.

Cons

Weak upper management. A lot of turnover at the top over the last decade has created uncertainty about the company's direction. Many different strategic changes over the last several years have cost money and jobs.
