Pros

It is NPR and if you're a NPR geek you THINK you've found nirvana. Not so much.

Cons

An organization still in flux. Trying to figure out how to survive not thrive. NPR and station relationships frought w antagonism and "old ways." On both sides.

An inspiring place to work

Pros

The creativity and passion people for their jobs here is inspiring. You are constantly meeting fascinating people, not to mention the Tiny Desk Concerts are a great perk of the job.

Cons

Lots of egos. The weight of egos vs genuinely awesome people is pretty even, so it really depends on who you are working with directly.

Intern

Pros

Worked with really talented smart people! The department I worked in was pretty small which was a little frustrating as an intern because I felt like I didn't always have a lot of things to do...but the person above me was very helpful and inspiring :) They have a really nice brand new office! And tiny desk concerts are sweet.

Cons

For my department there probably would never be an opening. :(
