Pros

Mission-driven, intelligent and curious staff culture that is not overly demanding nor overly political. Local content, not just national content, is important to preserve in USA.

Cons

A lot of sub-optimal decision-making because of legit scapegoats in FCC restrictions, or non-profit member station limitations, or Capitol Hill threats, but more frustrating is managers that are too jaded or cowardly to do the right thing and use policies and constraints against getting better.
