Pros

Mission is admirable, and some co-workers are heroic.

Cons

Management at all levels is understaffed, under-skilled, and unresponsive. Most of the good people are gone. The few that are left are hobbled by the time and effort needed to correct the poor work of others. Management is not able to control the quality of the work effort and morale is the lowest I've ever seen.

Very important, relevant mission - great legacy in any career.

Cons

Now under Battelle, benefits are average to below average. Flexibility in schedules/telecommuting is now entirely hit and miss - don't count on flexibility as a rule. Little care/respect for staff as individuals. Management is largely feckless, and has transitioned NEON to Battelle poorly on balance. Cost overruns and political issues plaguing previous management are largely the same - have simply been moved into different buckets and called by another name.
