Good group of people, puts you in a good position to get permanent jobs there. Great entry level position in field work. Good introduction to Alaska. Lots of overtime and per diem

Cons

Short field season, which means lots of overtime hours (good for pay, bad for free time), lots of travel (pro or com depending on you're situation).

Very low stress job, get to be outside in nice natural areas for work

Cons

tedious work that is mainly just collecting samples and no critical thinking involved. Can get repetitive and boring especially in the hot summer weather.
