Pros

NGA does work that positively impacts national security and our efforts to combat enemies abroad. I enjoy working there, and I believe that what I do contributes to our nations success.

Cons

The biggest con would be the DoD budget issues; and the on going struggle in congress to grapple said issues. It is difficult to an financially with so much uncertainty in Congress abou our budgets in the federal gov as a whole

Pros

Only pay-for-performance agency in the federal government Greater opportunity to quickly increase salary versus other agencies in DoD Move into new DC facility next year

Cons

Poor vetting for first-line managers Becoming too much like DIA; losing distinct culture. Hiring too many analysts too quickly; just because billets are given does not mean we need them.

Pros

Working at NGA provides good benefits and job security. If you're coming straight out of college, NGA provides many opportunities to experiment with different job roles.

Cons

I have never been in an environment where so many senior-level individuals are so disenchanted by the organization's ability to effect change. Many people come to work at NGA because they believe in the organization's mission but navigating the bureaucracy can be very challenging.
