If you want to keep your sanity, don't take a job here

Pros

Not much anymore. It used to be a great company to work for until they moved their headquarters to Waltham. I worked for 25 years and it was great, the last two years before I quit were horrible. Good pay if you've worked there a long time

Cons

Treated like you are a child by supervisors. Ridiculous codes to enter to account for every second that you have to be away from your desk which is highly discouraged anyways. Forget about talking to your fellow employees, if you have a conversation for more than 1 minute even if its about work, the supervisor is right there to ask if there is a problem. Everything you do is monitored which doesn't lead to good moral. Very little positive feedback, all you get is complaints about how much more you should be doing even though you are now doing the work three people used to do since half your department has either taken other jobs or quit. The pay is terrible for a new hire. During the last two years of my career I felt like I worked in a sweatshop.

No job security in finance

Pros

Healthcare benefits and vacation are good. Day to day the employees are hard working and there are strong team relationships. Friendly and flexible. Very caring.

Cons

Should be a stable job working at a utility, but not in finance department. Every other year there is new senior management who decide finance needs to be re-organized and 10% of people are out of a job. Every year employees ask for no more re-organizations on the employee survey, every year there are re-organizations. If you are seeking job stability, do not work here.

Pros

Energy company so basically a recession proof business.

Cons

-toxic culture -lack of internal mobility -lack of talent and no upskilling in place for current talent -lack of understanding from senior leadership -lack of desire for innovation or change due to the fact that the business is essentially recession proof
