Pros

Some managers genuinely try to help and stay professional, even though they’re clearly stretched thin. There are a few coworkers who look out for you, and the training basics are solid enough to get you started. If you can last 5 years then you start making some good money for NYC but tough to imagine living in NYC on the salary the start you at and for the next couple of years.

Cons

The first-year probation period feels harsh and unforgiving — one mistake can cost you your job. Pay doesn’t match the stress of wearing the uniform, entering homes around the city, and dealing with constant pressure. The culture treats new hires as expendable, and the focus on churn over retention makes the place feel like a numbers game rather than a company that values its people.

Pros

Encouragement to learn and grow. Annual reviews. Interesting day-to-day.

Cons

It's a large company so getting the lay of the land does take time.

• Exceptional work-life balance with flexibility and strong support for personal well-being. • Supportive and approachable leadership that genuinely invests in employees’ growth. • Strong focus on safety, ethics, and community impact, making work feel meaningful. • Collaborative work culture, where cross-functional teams work well together and respect each other. • Stable organization with long-term vision, which offers job security and structured processes. • Diverse and inclusive environment, with ongoing efforts to promote equity and representation. • Excellent benefits package, including healthcare, retirement plans, and employee resources. • Management values quality and continuous improvement, creating a strong engineering culture. • Transparent communication from leadership about strategy, goals, and business direction. • Feeling of purpose, knowing the work directly supports critical infrastructure and millions of customers.

Cons

• No major concerns from my experience so far. • Large organization structure means decisions can sometimes take time, but this is expected in a company of this scale. • Continuous improvements are always ongoing, and the company is receptive to feedback.
