Pros

Projects are meaningful and intend to impact positively on the climate. Work life balance is good (as long as you hit deadlines and get your work done you can be flexible). Cycle to Work Scheme. Some contracts allow you claim time from leaving your home Support for RICs / CPD Career opportunities and availability of secondments. Car scheme. No pressure to progress or move up the ladder (it's your own choice).

Cons

Sometimes the role isn't clearly defined and there can be a lot of crossing over of boundaries from different departments. Lack of external training (the majority of training is in-house), so extra quals can be hard to come by.
