Pros

The company itself, offers great benefits. For example, 401k, thrift savings, life insurance. Medical and dental.

Cons

It's unfortunate they don't pay you enough to actually take part in majority of the benefits offered. Lack of support from team leads and supervisors. Constantly there times reps would need assistance and no one would be around. Or they would see you and ignore you. No one was on the same page. You ask 100 puerile the same question and get 100 different answers. And the union sucks, can't even get a clear understanding of what's on the contracts. No raises.

Pros

Excellent benefits/compensation package, feel valued as an employee, believe in company goals and vision, and feel the company leadership/employees work hard to be a leader in the industry. I worked for another NY utility and have a good reference for perspective.

Cons

Regulatory constraints and obligations as required in a regulated industry sometimes stifle the business creativity. As a utility employee of 26+ years, it is hard to change culture within such a large, location diverse employee base.

Pros

Good salary, people, benefits performing vital and interesting work, fairly good office environment.

Cons

always changing for sake of change to look as though being cost effective (but not), favouritism culture, location (traffic wise), discriminatory culture particularly in HR because its do as i say not as I do!. Poor values (good on paper but not in reality.)
