Hard place for an experienced hire

Pros

Good benefits Good work/life balance Smart and passionate people

Cons

Since they groom so many people fresh out of college, it is hard for an experienced hire to come in. There are so many employees that have never worked anywhere else, they lack the experience of different corporate cultures and methods. It is hard to introduce other ways of doing things (process, ideas, etc) as people seem to have a bit of not invented here syndrome. This is true for senior management as well--they haven't worked at other companies to have the internal leadership skills that are needed as a company grows. Reorganizations are handled horrifically because they've never had them. One major reorg took a good 8 months to actually happen because it was not well planned for and thought through and as a result multiple reorgs were needed to 'fix' what was broken.

Pros

The pay is good. Coworkers are young and passionate. Benefit package is very good compared to other American(foreign) companies in here.

Cons

Poor management. They seem to give you the 'flexibility' to try many a creative way but later it turns out that perhaps in fact the managers are not so sure about what to do. A lack of direction. Not so many opportunities to get promoted internally as they claim. A lack of job matrix. You are not really going anywhere after a few years.
