Pros

Not so busy, don't have to be OT usually. Kind , friendly and smart people, share experience between engineers. Environments in side the company is good.

Cons

Less bonus compared with many similar level companies in IT Company site in shanghai is too far away from the city center, traffic is terrible.

Pros

National Instruments is setup for career growth. They hire a lot of very talented, young engineers straight out of school, and have very good training programs. There are a lot of projects in development, so most everyone gets a chance to shine with some real design work.

Cons

There is a downside to having a lot of young engineers who need to be trained. As a senior engineer, you spend a lot of time mentoring younger people. And although most managers are very good, you can occasionally find yourself in a group with little new growth or opportunities. This can be a difficult situation - so no matter how good the company is overall, hope for a good group and manager.

Pros

Besides vacation the employee benefits were the best of all my other options. The employee stock purchasing plan and 401k matching are also very good. NI is a very conservative company which is good on one hand, because of the stability it affords the employees. During my time at NI I've been able to find different avenues for developing my talents and skills.

Cons

The ELP department is a great place for engineering majors to start a career especially if they have not yet established what exactly they want to do with their careers, however after some time you become over qualified for essentially a glorified support role.
