Pros

PTO, lunch, a few execs are trying to implement change for the better and bring the company into the 21st Century, Potential exists.

Cons

Too much micromanaging from execs. Pay and Bonus sub-par. Way too slow to implement change.

Pros

The lunch program and PTO.

Cons

If you are a woman then don't bother looking into this company. It's almost impossible to move up as a woman even if you have experience they will choose some guy off of the street before they would choose you. Management is terrible. They don't have any empathy for their employees and any new ideas go in one ear and out the other. Human Resources is a joke. They don't care about their employees and can be very rude. There aren't any work from home opportunities unless you are liked by the "in crowd". The pay isn't good and the raises are next to nothing. There is next to no diversity and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Pros

I think National Interstate is an honorable company that provides a fair service to its customers, and tries to do the right thing. It cares about its people, and has some great people working there. Positives: -Management open to new ideas -Great overall benefit package -Ability to rise quickly in organization if you get results and work well with others -Flat hierarchy -Nice lunch program -Nice campus with convenient access to highways -New building being built -Backed by AFG in Cincinnati -Ability to have work/life balance and feel good about what you do -They walk the walk when it comes to values -Monthly breakfast meeting where company results (both good and bad) are clearly communicated

Cons

-Lack of flexibility/work at home is still probably behind the times. I think the company is slow to evolve here, but is doing so gradually -Salaries probably average at best, but overall benefits package is solid and improving -Relatively low bonuses in past few years as results have underachieved, but the trend is positive
