Pros

Can contribute to the security of the nation; Good for those seeking longevity- takes criminal activity to get fired!

Cons

Compensation not on par with private industry or CIA; bureaucracy is rampant except in crisis; virtually hamstrung because of Govt's unwillingness to address encryption with high tech leaders; upcoming "reorganization" has employees on pins and needles.
