Pros

Great coworkers, great management (at the campus I am at). Very flexible when it comes to dealing with work/life. Decent benefits. If you have found your niche and want to stick around, there are many opportunites for promotion and career growth. Becomes a "family" environment.

Cons

Pay was pathetic; the majority of people work there for the free education and leave eventually. I probably found more change on the floor of the student lounge, compared to the "merit raises" I received.

Pros

Co-workers supportive and helpful when they can be found or accessed.

Cons

Employment treated more as legal language and contractual, pay frequently late. Classifications of level of instructor status toggles year over year which affects monthly pay by as much as 10%

Pros

It is a good learning environment with meduim pressure for "numbers"...service is highly important to National which supports a "feel good about what you do" environment and attracts other very positive, friendly, employees. Co-workers and students make coming to work enjoyable. Benifits are top level and low cost, many training programs available for staff and lastly Natioanl offers great JOB SECRUITY- while one can easliy be replaced based on job discription, employees are valued within their own department and NU is steadily growing, making lots of money, and has no need for layoffs or campus closures.

Cons

There are many moments one feels the have mallot of finances pounding at their door. For empoyees that work as hard as the people I know there should be a much bigger reward or insentive for the time, quality work and effort found amongst most employees. Like stated above internal departments value employees; however the "higher-up could care less about the day to day tasks, work incentives, or promotions. For a company to send out letters acknowledging their employees will likely qualify for welfare or food stamps is a bold statment of "we know we don't pay you enough to meet economic standards of living." That letter was assurance that this is not a company to plan long term growth.
