Pros

It was at one time a flexible place to work.

Cons

No support from national leadership. Lots of directives but no guidance, no clear support. One time I asked why we don’t have epi-pens in case of emergencies and the response I was given to give the kids Benadryl. If you’re not Christian, you won’t advance. Outdated forms and policies. Super high turnover. People aren’t allowed to take their own notes during meetings or bring their laptops into meetings. Just overall bad leadership, no priority to genuinely invest in a successful long term foster care program, and HR is not helpful.

Pros

This company has a wonderful mission and important values. The beautiful thing about NYAP is the constant drive to serve the community and help children and families. If you are looking for a job where you can make an impact, this is the company for you.

Cons

There are lots of documentation requirements and deadlines, but this is to be expected in any social work related job field.
