Pros

Great colleagues; solid reputation as a company; challenging work.

Cons

As a large company, layoffs are often on the table, depending upon economic climate and company performance. Lower salaries (as compared to other in-house legal departments).

Depends on the leader

Pros

The people and benefits were great. I had a great experience at Nationwide in former roles. Unfortunately, the last senior leader I worked with created a toxic work culture so I accepted another opportunity.

Cons

The hybrid work model was confusing and frustrating to coordinate with a family. My work responsibilities were doubled when they didn't backfill another position. Great experience within other teams and positions at Nationwide but I needed to escape a toxic leader that encouraged working around the clock
