Pros

This company has been through a few years of changing management - which you'll see reflected in some of the recent posts on here. But the new management team is excellent, they have a strong product vision, and have fixed a lot of the things that were broken. The product pipeline is super-strong, and there's a new energy around the place.

Cons

The offices could do with a bit of modernising. They need to do work on diversity. The exec team is pretty diverse, but other teams are very white/male heavy.

Some Horrible Bosses

Pros

Friendly colleagues, remote work options, great free food, and a pet-friendly office environment.

Cons

The company culture may not be suitable for everyone, especially those seeking a more diverse and supportive work environment. There is burnout and frustration among employees, contributing to a predominantly negative atmosphere. Many colleagues are frustrated due to e.g. a lack of recognition, insufficient resources, and below-industry-standard payment, in some cases. The workload demands can be excessive, leading to emotional distress for some team members during meetings. Although diversity is claimed as a priority on paper, middle management primarily consists of white alpha males lacking authentic diversity skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence. Some directors even promote an unhealthy burnout culture and exhibit overt, yet unintentional forms of discrimination. They are very good at talking and will talk about their own vacation and projects in your 1:1s because they see you as a number.

We appreciate your feedback and are grateful for your insights into our workplace. It's good to hear that you've enjoyed the camaraderie among colleagues, the flexibility of remote work, the pet-friendly environment, and benefits such as free food. We take your concerns seriously; no employees should feel unsupported or burned out. If you know anyone in this position, please advise them to speak to our Director of Engagement. We have resources to support struggling employees such as our EAP. We note your feedback about diversity of middle management. Fostering an inclusive environment where all employees feel valued and respected is a priority; however, we recognize we are not there yet regarding diversity at all levels, but we have plans to get there. Thank you for taking the time to provide your perspective and helping us shape a better future.

Working at NI

Pros

Not many pros left after NI merged with Izotope and some other small companies and became an umbrella company named Soundwide. Many people left the company! Hardware team is struggling and under staffed , many are burnt out and on long sick leave! Some are mobbing others to save their own position and bunch of drama!

Cons

No positivity left in the company, many people left! The rest is dealing with the management and constantly complaining! Real Senior engineers in the hardware team are 3-4 ! People are burnt out, and team is not healthy ! Pretty toxic work environment! No senior to learn from. People without technical knowledge have somehow become seniors with fake yearly review and can not even deal with stress!
