Pros

Having never done sales before I though it would be great to start with recruitment. This was the best decision I made looking back to when I applied for Navartis nearly 2 years ago. I walked in thinking i'd be top biller by week 3. Of course this wasn't the case, 6 months to make my first deal. The mistakes made have been trivial to my little successes at Navartis. For me I will always be grateful for the mentorship and training Navartis have be able to offer me. I am really excited to see how far I can actually get within Navartis.

Cons

- Recruitment is annoying - Recruitment is hard - Recruitment looks easier than it is

Pros

Before starting Navartis last May I had worked at 3 other recruitment companies; I started off with executive global search and then moved into UK recruitment and now I am working as a Senior Consultant in the Leeds office, recruiting across the UK and Europe. I’ve always really enjoyed recruitment but hadn’t really found a company I gelled with yet or the felt like bought he most out in me. One thing that stood out to me immediately with Navartis was the level of professionalism and solid process followed. When I started, they really took the time to train me up over a 12-week course, even with 2 years of experience, to give me the confidence in this specific role, as well training me on skills I've never developed in previous roles such as commercial awareness and negotiation giving me more ownership on my own work. The thing I enjoy most about Navartis, and specifically the Leeds office is the culture and the people; everyone gets on really well and supports each other’s growth and success! I get on so well with my colleagues and have built genuine, true friendships. As well as this, the management is really supportive and highly integrated in the team culture. We’re quite a small and close team so always want to see each other win and are rewarded for our team and individual efforts (there's always horror stories of competition in recruitment, and I've actually experienced it first hand but that's not the case at all here!) Everyone has their own goals but also want to see each other succeed at the same time. As a company, we’re regularly awarded with social events quarterly and team incentives monthly and weekly which makes us more driven to do well. There are also so many personal development opportunities that are all supported and funded by the company e.g trips out to different cities/countries, client meals out and further training and development. My final point is the earning and growth potential, management are very transparent about commission structures and targets and give you structured paths to help you get there, the path is also very tailored to what YOU want from a career, not being pigeon-holed into roles that don't work for you which can often be the culture in recruitment, my manager regularly sits with me to discuss what I want from the job and how he can hep me get there, which isn't something I've experienced before and am really grateful for! There's not many jobs where you have such clarity and control of your earnings so you really get out what you put in! I've seen myself really grow and earn good money from this model and am excited for what more there is to come.

Cons

As with any job there will always be some cons which you'd have to take into consideration. I'd say one thing to consider is the flexibility, if you are looking to join the company its important to know that it is a full time office position, though there is some flexibility on work from home at the discretion of management in certain circumstances. Another thing I'd say is, like with all recruitment jobs be prepared to work to targets and deliver, this can sometimes be very difficult stressful if you've not worked in a target driven job but they are very transparent about expectations from the start. Hand in hand with this it means you'll have to be very self motivated and do a lot of outbound work, while the level of autonomy is positive in my eyes, it can be quite daunting for a lot of people, especially early in their career. This can also be a struggle at times where it feels like things aren't going your way but my advice for that is just to remain positive and persistent!

Pros

I am now roughly 2 years and 2 months in to my journey at Navartis. I wanted to come on here to write an honest reflection of my time here for anyone thinking about joining us or recruitment in general. My main pro's across my time are: -Increased finances. This is a big one for me as it's the reason I get out of bed in the morning! climbing the career chart has resulted in multiple increases in basic salary and more consistent deals has resulted in more commission for me on a regular basis. This has allowed me to get in to a car I am very proud of and set out to get prior to starting. -I've enjoyed building relationships/friendships with my colleagues and we regularly socialise outside of work which is a big plus for me. -In the Solihull office we have an incentive to finish at 12:30 on a Friday which is always a nice end to the week when you hit the relevant target to achieve it. We also have end of quarter do's that are always good fun. I'm looking forward to the upcoming one at Warwick races where we are getting a stretched huma limo from the office to our private box there. -Another big one for me is the fact I don't get the 'Sunday night fear' that many of my friends get and genuinely enjoy coming in to work.

Cons

As with any job, there is bound to be cons. I've tried to summarise my main ones below: -No working from home for junior staff. This is something to consider when picking whether you want to join Navartis. I do however believe when you are new to a job it is important to be around people that have done it for longer than you and coming into the office puts you in the best positions to learn. -Canvas hour. In my team we spend an hour every morning doing calls only. This was very daunting for me when I started and something I used to dread. Having stuck it out now it has all but eliminated my fear of cold calling. -Highs and lows. It sounds cliche but I have experienced real highs and lows in this role, sometimes in the same day. It's important to keep as level as possible, which isn't always easy!
