Pros

Prime on some of their contracts. Good Contracts/Positions. Benefits are good.

Cons

Small company with lots of room for improvement. The performance review process is a joke. A reply from management can take a long time/even for vacation approvals.

We are completely revamping our performance review process for 2016 and have already revamped our communication process to respond to all employee communications in a very timely manner. 2015 has turned out to be a record year for growth for Navstar and we are improving our processes daily. We're hoping you will give Navstar another opportunity in the future and wish you the best regardless.

Pros

Management is great. The CEO is very involved in business development and growing the company which benefits all employees. She is really easy to get along with and super friendly. Another pro is the company offers a great work/life balance and offers excellent benefits. I have enjoyed my time at Navstar thus far and am excited to be a part of such an amazing team!

Cons

The company is still growing!

This really hurts to see. We go out of our way to take care of our employees and routinely make decisions that benefit employees at great expense to the company. One example is for 3 years running we have absorbed the vast majority of heath care cost increases instead of passing them on to our employees. Another example is in 2013 when the government shutdown occurred we immediately extended 40 hours, then 80 hours of negative PTO to our employees, rather than making them take leave without pay as many companies did. Our small business was founded and is run by people who have been line employees all their lives and we make every decision with great care and concern for the impact on employees. I don't know what issue this review was based on, but I do wish we had a chance to address this while this person was still with the business, we can only solve issues we know about.
