Pros

Flexible time off, generous benefits, great perks

Cons

Constant phone calls from members can be hard. Given 1 hour of break time per day. Management is out of touch with day-to-day operations.

Pros

Basic benefits & retirement plan

Cons

Lately with new CEO company is going down the hill. People getting management positions only if you know somebody higher up friend hires a friend tap of thing , even if you go through the interview , the feed back to give you the already had somebody in wine , of course , because then somebody that's why they're hiring that person. Management changed in last 23 years , and company definitely is going down the hill with all of the changes they are bringing.

Pros

The Call Center is a death trap

Cons

There is no way out of the call center. What prompted me to write this review is that one of the other 5-star comments said it’s easy to be placed in another job if one job role is not working out for you. That is totally and entirely false. I tried to get out of the call center for over nine years. My annual review ranking was Exceeds Expectations. I applied for other jobs within NFCU, but they hired from the outside to fill those jobs. They do not let you get out of your job that easily in any part of the company. I was at NFCU for a total of over 12 years because I worked as a contractor for over 2 1/2 years before I went to work full-time. I worked full-time for over 9 years so I have a very good understanding of what it’s like on the inside of NFCU. I worked at both Vienna, VA headquarters and Winchester, VA. Don’t let these 5-star reviews fool you, most of which I believe are staged. This company is not what it is portrayed in these 5-star reviews. My supervisor took two 9-month extended maternity leaves and then went missing in action for four months while she was going through a divorce. During her absence, I received no monthly reviews. When she returned from extended leaves, she was inconsistent with providing her staff with monthly reviews. How was I supposed to stay on a career path out of the call center with a supervisor that was MIA? I can say with certainty that these five star reviews are staged because I was on the inside of NFCU for over 12 years and a lot of employees were unhappy.
