Pros

- Culture emphasizes respect, and everyone is! - Relaxed, task-driven workdays (no micro-managers). - HR is responsive & has fairly progressive policies - Health Insurance is good. - Time off amount is reasonable and easy to schedule. - Frequent opportunities for job title/responsibility growth (with consideration to salary increase). - Neogen is incredibly progressive with revenue and research opportunities, and strategic on a global scale. They always show strong revenue growth.

Cons

- Neogen’s continuous growth has outpaced its systems and processes (you need to help upgrade and resolve current long-standing issues, while maintaining all current deadlines). - No centralized manuals or written resources (you need to make your own). - Neogen’s frequent acquisition and mergers require particular care.

Pros

Automation. That’s it. But you can get this literally anywhere else.

Cons

They do not prioritize employees, lab techs specifically. Corporate doesn’t know (still, several years after it was instituted) that techs work weird shifts and weird hours (10hr days Sun-Wed, Wed-Sat) so if a holiday falls on the weekend good luck getting it off. Supervisors do not know their platforms and that’s how Neogen likes it. They only want supervisors that they can manipulate, it doesn’t matter what skills they have. When I say most of them are dead inside and do not advocate for the people they manage, it is no exaggeration. I saw nepotism, favoritism, gaslighting, straight up lying (all from supervisors/management). They say they’ll give you bonuses (for example, they offer a referral bonus) but you will likely never see that money. I never saw mine. No one at this company knows how to communicate. I’ve seen managers communicating negatively with a person over Facebook and they were never reprimanded. Instead of firing people who absolutely should be fired, they ignore the issues or they give them a lateral new position.
