      IT department is a mess

      Pros

      Compensation and work-life balance are decent.

      Cons

      DevOps is nonexistent. Development teams have responsibility but not authority to define system structure, perform application maintenance, implement security procedures, manage deployment process, etc. As a developer, I spend significantly more time trying to get other permissioned users to perform required actions on my behalf than I do coding
