Pros

I hated it honestly. I felt like I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Cons

The revolving doors suck all individuality and joy as you enter. So cliquey. Really as cooperate as you get. It was awful. No room for anything outside of the guide books. You begin feeling like a robot

Pros

Great salary, sometimes busy work, lots of opportunities for outgoing individuals. You will excel and go far if you're confident and force yourself forward.

Cons

Lack of support for graduates mean that often individuals new to the company and working life are told "figure it out for yourself" and thrown to the wolves. Most employees are grumpy and disinterested, viewing you as worthless if you've been in the company less than 5 years. Surprisingly poor attitudes from 90% of people there considering they're on ridiculous amounts of money for 35 hour weeks, private health insurance and loads of other benefits. Probably the worst thing though is how they preach about diversity and inclusion and being forward thinking and then you go to the frontline staff and there's sexism, racism, homophobic remarks and it's all laughed off as banter or given the excuse "this is what it's always been like" which I've heard more times than I can count.

Thank you for providing your honest review on both the pros and cons of working at Network Rail. We have a variety of initiatives across the business to build greater diversity across our business and better reflect the communities we serve. From joining our Employee Networks, to signing up as a diversity & inclusion champion, any one in our business can make a change with the tools and guidance provided . We would have encouraged you to sign up as a diversity & inclusion champion in order to use your influence on some of the points raised. For more support on the graduate scheme, we would have encouraged you to reach out to your scheme manager and if you had a buddy or mentor, they would have been able to provide additional support. Thanks again for your comments.
