Potential variety in workload. Good annual leave.

Pros

There honestly weren't that many. Subsidised travel and decent pension. An inpenetrable management clique - looking after each other and at the same time stabbing each other in the back.

Cons

Organisation is run by people who all look the same. Diversity is a tick box exercise. The typical employee is male, who left school with a fascination with trains and stayed long enough to be promoted, not by talent, but merely length of service. Many stories of bullying culture.
