Pros

Loads of opportunities to move around and try new things Lots of training and development opportunities Colleagues with huge amounts of passion and pride in the rail industry 75% leisure travel discount (it really adds up!) Great range of benefits and discounts Lots of locations across Great Britain, so you can keep working for NR even if you move

Cons

Lots of red tape - can make it hard to get things done Feeling of divide between frontline and desk based colleagues (worsened significantly since Covid, and not fixed yet) Some uncertainty over coming of GBR (no clarity on impact to roles) Conflicting priorities, and a lot of reactive work
