Pros

Good stable solid company - safe in these times

Cons

New management brought in from Citi is ruining the company. NYL used to have a good work /balance, employees treated fairly - these new managers are brutal.. Not what Ted Mathas preaches.

Pros

A great company to work for. There is unlimited potential for pay in this position. It is very possible to climb the organizational ladder after some experience in the business.

Cons

A large company that sometimes has too much red tape to go through. They also need to improve their local advertising.

Pros

Freedom and Income Potential. Great Training. If you are a young college graduate that still lives at home, and can work hard (sometimes 100 hours a week), you are almost certain to be a very succesful. Within 5 to 10 years you could be earning $200,000 and working a normal 40 hour week.

Cons

Lack of Base salary for new agents. Compensation is completly Commission. While this is fine once you have an established book of business, the first few years can be very rocky, be prepared for a roller coaster ride. Could have some more formalized mentoring programs
