Pros

Opportunities to grow personally and professionally, if you take initiative. Access to updated guides and resources to help you perform your role effectively. Teammates are smart, capable, and often willing to provide support and guidance.

Cons

During my time at Nextiva, I encountered several challenges that significantly impacted my experience. Growth opportunities were very limited; I had no salary review for two years, and promised bonuses were cut midway through the year. While management frequently announces “changes” via email, actual position upgrades or tier advancements have been on hold for over six months without explanation. Do you want to stay in one company for a long time to prove your importance? Forget about it. The company has a “random layout policy” that seems more focused on maintaining a balance of men and women in each team than recognizing employees with strong skills or work ethic. In my two years, I experienced two major team reshuffles: the first was presented as a strategic expansion for new roles, while the second appeared primarily designed to pay manager bonuses. With the introduction of new products came additional responsibilities. However, training was minimal and largely ineffective—consisting mostly of lengthy videos and meetings that often seemed irrelevant and appeared more focused on completing internal checklists than genuinely preparing employees. Communication across departments is fragmented, and it can be very difficult to get support or influence decisions. The company structure is highly bureaucratic, and few employees seem to fully understand the responsibilities of other teams. For those interested in moving into sales, the training provided is short and often delivered by people with limited hands-on experience, leaving new hires underprepared for their roles. Overall, while Nextiva offers exposure to new products and processes, the lack of career growth, ineffective training, random team reshuffles, and bureaucratic challenges make it a difficult environment for professional development.

Hi Friend. I shared the feedback with Onboarding leadership and direct managers. Part of leading in the market requires changes and our teams to evolve rapidly. With that, some teams can be more affected than others in that high-level pace. It's worth it, because we are building something amazing and worth wild though. Leadership extended their empathy and shared that if you have feedback on how they can implement more salary review conversations, outside of the two they do a year, they are very receptive to that suggestion. Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience. Our doors will always be open for you!

Pros

At my old workplace there wasn't a lot of opportunity for movement upwards, or even just for career development and learning. Nextiva was a breath of fresh air in this regard, there were plenty of professional development events and opportunities, and we were encouraged to make the most of what they were offering. I learnt a lot during my time there. I would have loved to stay longer, but when I was ready to progress there weren't any opportunities. Regardless, I look very fondly on my time at Nextiva.

Cons

I didn't leave because I was unhappy, so it would be great if there was some way for us Nextiva alumni to stay in touch. I met a lot of great people at that company, and it's a shame that there's no easy way for us all to stay in contact.

Pros

I like the way that Nextiva structures their teams. It’s working well for the projects we have and allows us as developer’s to stay focused on a common goal. I find for me that is really helpful for my efficiency and allows me to be at my best.

Cons

Fast growth is sometimes tricky. I’ve experienced this in past positions too and I am always a little concerned about it as it can make things difficult.
