Pros

Innovative products, Growing company with products that are and will be in demand indefinitely

Cons

Japanese management has unrealistic expectations for growth that would get them laughed out of the US stock market - maybe why they left it years ago. Micromanagement from the top on issues that don't make a difference at the end of the day. Too much corporate politics - promotions based on who you know and how much you brown-nose. CEO promotes a culture that encourages group-think which leads to a lack of critical thinking. Local management, under pressure from corporate, focus to much on production while ignoring or minimizing other issues. When it comes to EHS, corporate and especially local management say the right things but show little interest or outright disdain for actually doing the right things. Corporate is very numbers focused, especially concerning the balance sheet and are never satisfied or truly grateful when results are achieved. Goals are constantly revised upwards when acheivement is approached or is actually met even if any ability to produce those achievements consistently has yet to be proven. Bonuses are tied to these goals, giving corporate an easy way to save money by constantly moving the goal line or setting goals that are unrealistic as compared to previous performance. Hourly pay is based on what position you hold and tops out between 2-4 years in the position. No extra pay for longevity in the position after that or for years with the company. Speaking of pay, while other commodore were raising wages during the pandemic, Nidec cut bonuses, and employees had to fight for two years to get a raise. Certain actions have been taken over the last few years without a well-thought-out plan of implementation or execution and blame for the problems caused is passed down to the employees who have to make due with the results for these failures of management.
