Pros

Competitive salaries, ability to sell earns you higher pay through commission, excellent health care benefits, 401k, profit sharing, and other benefits. Professional environment and friendly co-workers. Also, the shopping discount is a plus! I recommend Nordstrom for someone not looking for a management position.

Cons

Working every weekend, summer, and holiday. There aren't many positions that offer a set schedule, so expect working nights, mid-days, and mornings. This can be challenging for families or those looking to plan events that would coincide with the weekend or holidays. As a manager, your workload is extremely heavy and you are expected to "do it all." As a sales person you need to be a strong seller otherwise you will find yourself not making enough money or removed from your position.
