Pros

Stores are a great environment to work in. The key is the store manager. The tempo of the store is lead by the store manager.

Cons

Some employees dress too casual and management does not address. Need better incentive for merchandise that is returned to be compensated.

Pros

You work hard for your own salary because it is commission based.

Cons

It gets too competitive between co workers. It is really a bad work environment because there is jealousy and hostility towards one another instead of team work.

Pros

Creative work environment, met really amazing people and had fun most days. Good pay for artists in the Visual Merchandising department

Cons

Corporate budget cuts forced the Visual team to adhere to staple looks, every window in every city would look the same, what made Nordstrom a great place to work for an artist was the creative freedom on a team and then it just became 'boring branding' and corporate bullying. Worked every thanksgiving 22 hours straight to turn store into "christmas" overnight.
