Pros

Opportunity for growth, Positive environment, Everyone was willing to help you out and give you advice on how to do better.

Cons

If you are unable to relocate, your career may suffer. The company is very willing to promote you, but it is almost always in a different location

Pros

I enjoyed interacting with the customers . You meet a lot of interesting people and build great relationships while working at Nordstrom. I also enjoyed working on commission because you always know how much you'll make at the end of the period.

Cons

Some of the downsides include the competitive, hostile environment you have to work in because it is commission based. Also, I wish employees had a higher discount since we only have 20% off items while other stores I have worked at ranged from 30-50%off. Some of management expect you to be ultra upbeat everytime you work which is hard to do if it doesn't come naturally. Commission should be the same in every department and it isn't. Their return policy is absurd, takes away from your sales everytime someone returns an item.
