Pros

My coworkers are great no complaints ab them

Cons

• The pay is crap, even if you work your butt off everyday your paycheck will not reflect that. This leads people to disengage or quit entirely. • management doesn’t care about you. You are just a number to them. They will sit in their office all day and argue w you when u need them on the floor. • you will encounter several entitled customers a day, needing you there for their entire 2 hour long shopping process, just for them to buy a $40 dollar t shirt in the end. They will be rude, cause scenes, yell at you, etc. • work life balance is non existent. Kiss your weekends and holidays goodbye, you’ll be working all weekend every weekend and also every holiday. Don’t even think about taking any time off during anniversary cause it won’t be allowed. If you ask for schedule accommodations (aka 2 consecutive days off sometimes) it’ll be completely ignored.

Pros

Decent base pay, somewhat autonomous, great tip potential.

Cons

The company has changed for the worse since COVID. When I came back the mood of the entire store had shifted. Gone were the days of comradery, customer focus, and taking pride in a job well done. In its place there is a new culture of cutthroat sales, a severe decline in customer focus, and worst of all a new focus on profit over customer satisfaction. When I was told that the amount the store charged for a shoe shine was not enough to do the best job I could for a customer I knew things had gone downhill for the company. Not to mention I watch a manager prey on a mentally disabled person in order to secure a sale, when the person could not understand what was being offered. Sad that such a once great company is now just another greed ridden corporation.
