Pros

You get to work on defense contracts. Basically some of contracts involve designing and building large carriers or frigates for the Navy. The work environment is also fairly stable since most of contracts or jobs seem to last anywhere from several months to several years. The people who work there tend to be more laid back.

Cons

I don't feel that the compensation is enough from the engineering side. The bigger companies such as Shell and Exxon are paying their engineers generously and are till reaping a ton of profits. I do believe that an engineer should be paid on his/her merits or accomplishments and his/her seniority.

Pros

This is a well-established aerospace company. There is good opportunity for job growth and advancement via the tuition reimbursement program.

Cons

Often office politics at the mid-to-top levels interferes with productivity. Too much posturing and taking credit for the work of others. We should try not to create a "group think," mentality by having the same people in every meeting.
