Pros

You get to work for yourself, which allows for great growth possibilities and high income upside. They have the best products in the industry and provide great training.

Cons

Very high personal expenses means if you struggle when you first start you have almost no chance of success. You get fined if you don't meet minimums.

Pros

NM has a great benefits package and listens to their employees. The work-life balance is important to this company, and its something that comes up during review periods if you seem to be spending too much time at the office. Work at home is flexible within the Information Systems department, so if something comes up (you or child is sick, errands to run, delivery expected) you are allowed to work at home.

Cons

The pay is low compared to similar jobs outside the company, but the benefits make up for it. There is a lot of bureaucracy at the company, and its very difficult to get a systems change done. Plus, the rules governing the systems change process is about to get a lot more restrictive, making any systems administrator's job a LOT more difficult! The reason behind the red tape is that it's imperative systems remain available to our clients, as any down time results in lost revenue. Which is understandable, but still makes our jobs harder.

easy money, you also learn a lot about the financial services industry and whether or not it is a place for you

Cons

the internship is a sales job, and you need to be comfortable asking friends and family to purchase insurance from you
