      Pros

      Great training, best I know of in the industry for Financial Representatives.

      Cons

      A little more recognition to Associate Financial Representatives and Sales Assistants would be helpful. The Associate Financial Representatives, Sales Assistants and Marketing Assistants play a very large roll in helping the Financial Representative meet his goals. The recognition for a job well done is very public at the top, and it gets a little weaker as you go down the chain of command. Also, although the training is second to none for the Financial Representatives, I think the training for the sales staff could be a little more organized and concise.

      Pros

      Northwestern is recognized as the leader in the industry. The training and support are second to none. This is truely a career that you can do for the rest of your life without having to play office politics or worry about getting the next promotion.

      Cons

      It's a hard industry, especially for recent college graduates. Building a financial practice is difficult, but there is a very defined method for success. Compensation is straight commission right out of the gate, but that's not a big deal if you do what you're told to do.
