Managing Low Level Software Development Needs Hardware Background

Software Directors/Managers are proactive watching developers

Cons

But they have no ideas about low level software (code running on microprocessor boards rather on PC) development dependencies: hardware design information and platform availability. So when they plan a schedule for software development, they just ignore the hardware dependencies and warnings of platform's possible delay. So when the deadline is slipped, the management just unreasonably blames the software developers and makes them scapegoats.

Easy work, good people, generous company, flexible hours, working remote, independent direction, internal support from the other US based FSE was outstanding, support from Israel was good but delayed from time zones.

Cons

Their VPN intranet was painful if you needed to download documentation. Being a smaller based company you were forced to resolve your own issues, sometimes to the disgruntlement of the customer. Too many tasks left incomplete because a new priority has arrived.
