      Pros

      Two man team based maintenance crews for each of the three plants. It is not micro-managed and you are able to make decisions on how to complete repairs from a technical stand point. It is a somewhat relaxed environment. The schedule is 12 hour shifts on days or nights. 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am working on a 2-3-2 format. HR is actually pretty awesome here. They are more than willing to work with you and sit down to address issues. There are a few people that work here that make all the CONS less painful because it is a joy to be around them.

      Cons

      Plant management is honestly terrible. Products are allowed to leave production to customers with defects because they were due last week. Benefits have become terrible and comparable to Walmart or a Fast food company. It gets extremely hot on the production floor and is chaotic when it comes to organization. Maintenance falls directly under production supervisors which leads to non-stop issues. Everything in maintenance is retroactive and in the mentality of we just need to get it going. This is not because of the maintenance department, but because of the production management having ZERO planning ability. They wait until it is broke to worry about it. Pay is awful by comparison for jobs requiring the same skill set. Maintenance workers can expect $18-$22/HR with very little raise potential. Other plants of this size and skill set requirement are paying $25-$28/HR with 6month pay increases on a 5 year pay scale until topping out. They do not even have a pay scale plan at this place. The one on file is out dated from over 10 years ago.
