Pros

The buildings are exceptional. Kind people at the grassroot level. Annual and LTIP bonuses if I reach director level that equates to two large bonuses! It guarantees an extra six figures on top of our salary to all directors and higher. Trying to get there..

Cons

To get the bonus, you have to play dirty, The insistence and pressure to provide false data to our executives, governmental auditors, and regulators is maddening. I push forward for the fear of being let go. The ethics is proposed but word is out that it only leads to career stall or exit from the company. I have seen it happen. To make matters worse, I agree with previous posters on this site, We push home safe every day but the reality is we have a non compliant and dishonest safety program. Major tragedies have happened and the reports sent to the execs are total BS Facilities and Security are also lacking the proper leaders in our company.

At Nutrien, we are committed to our two core values of safety and integrity. We are disappointed to hear what you have described and certainly don’t support behaviours that contradict what we stand for. Apart from encouraging you to speak with your leader or a member of HR or Legal, we encourage you to use the Compliance Hotline, an online and phone-based reporting tool managed by a third party, where employees can raise concerns, anonymously if desired, regarding any behaviours that appear inconsistent with our Code of Ethics. Further, we empower all employees to be safety leaders; if something is unsafe, we want all employees to voice their concern through the various official channels available to all employees.

Pros

Solid pay for the area. Has made noticeable improvements to mechanical safety.

Cons

Employer was recently purchased by Nutrien. Insurance is pretty bad compared to other plans I've had in similar facilities. Horrendous onboarding process. Most of the employees don't know any of the policies outside of vacation and 401k. Nobody on site ever received a handbook. The guy brought in to change over the network had no idea what he was doing and hasn't been back to fix the mountain of issues he created. Only one computer in the building can be used to print for production. Lost over a year's worth of documents on the change over. The people who approve and schedule shipments are offsite and lack basic communication with our management or just agrees to everything unconditionally. Receiving orders daily for product we don't have. People literally rushing to create product while the shipping truck is at the dock waiting to be loaded with that product. Received defective labels that have to be applied by hand. Complete chaos every day. Management doesn't take an active role in the daily function of the plant. Working 12+ hours a day to complete work that would take half that time if people weren't allowed to screw around and waste time doing nothing. On site management unavailable or absent from the plant for large portions of the day. On site management brushes complaints under the rug, and never listens to the supervisors who are actually on the floor and know the environment. Even though complaints come, nothing is addressed, nothing ever changes, and nobody is ever punished. Widespread nepotism.
