      Bought out by TIAA in 2014, as of 2019 the effects are more present and procedures are becoming aligned, which is a bit chaotic. Hard to get recognized for good work, easy to get recognized for bad. Hard to advance due to some middle managers being tenured for so long.

      Pros

      Being an Internal at Nuveen is the most magnificent and unbelievably rewarding experience I can imagine. I wake up everyday excited to come into work because I learn so much and feel like I make a positive impact on the FA's I serve. Nuveen has such an abundance of products to sell, that I am never without a great idea to discuss to add value to my client's business. I feel like I am on a very strong career path, which will permit me to provide a generous living for my family for decades to come. There is so much intellectual capital at Nuveen and there is a phenomenal combination of competition and camaraderie.

      Cons

      Being allowed to work remotely a day or two a week would be nice. However, I just love coming into the office and interacting with my fantastic colleagues--I could not ask for a greater group of people. I am working among an extremely smart group of people, of which I have created great friendships. During lunch we play board games and have interesting financial discussions. It’s exciting to wake up and go to work knowing that I’ll be collaborating with the best colleagues I’ve had in my career.
