Pros

- Most Store Managers are great - Learn new knowledge of various vehicles daily - Great place to network - Most managers will work around a school schedule - Getting promoted is easy, depending on who your manager is

Cons

- Commission structure is terrible. If you sell $15k in a month, you might make $80 extra for your hard work - Lots of inconsistencies involving Store Managers regarding the enforcement of company policies. At one store, anything goes might be okay, at another store you get punished for the slightest mistake. - Very high turnover rate, due to lots of work for little pay. - Corporate seems to think that having technology from 20yrs ago is a good thing and is very cheap when it comes to keeping a store up to par. Every store for example still uses a dot-matrix printer. They jam constantly and break down weekly. Most older stores could use a major overhaul, repair of various areas, or just general remodeling. However when it comes to general maintenance, good luck on getting it done. I have personally been asked to fixed the overhead lights and do plumbing in the bathrooms.

Pros

Learned different areas. Management helped as needed. Management hires within if there is a qualified person. Great starter or career choice.

Cons

Females can have some of the more labor intensive jobs. During widespread power outages, it is hard to maneuver and give good customer service. Driving during peak times can be hard to maneuver.

Pros

Slightly better than decent pay. Great working environment. Everyone has good teamwork skills. At least in my store. Company provides great training through their computer-based training program. And also high school like Teacher vs. class of students training at Distribution centers and Hub stores. Vast amount product available usually within a few hours or next day while some special orders taking up to 3 or 4 days. Not bad at all. Great cultures and values to live by let alone work by.

Cons

Pay is not where it needs to be but that could be personal to myself. I do not I supervise at least 2 employees that get paid more than myself, but one employee has been there for year before my time but the other employee is a new hire with some shop experience, but I have just as much. Sorry for ranting. Bottom line is that if they can, they will screw you on your pay.
